Sep. 07, 2016

Julie BeckmanJulie Beckman, director of Student Development for the College of Architecture and Design and co-designer of the Pentagon Memorial in Arlington, Virginia, is an invited panelist at two national events in observation of the 15th Anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Beckman will speak at the National Building Museum’s “9/11: Inspiring the Future of Memorials” on Sept. 8 in Washington, D.C., and on Oct. 13, she will speak at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum’s The Architecture of Remembrance in New York City.

“It’s tough trying to explain why people intend to do harm to others. I still find it incomprehensible,” Beckman said.
