The UT College of Architecture and Design Board of Advisors is a body consisting primarily of representative alumni, outstanding practitioners, and representatives from related industries. It is charged with the task of providing guidance for the maintenance and development of the college’s programs from a professional perspective.
As the College develops, the Board establishes standards of excellence that assure students are prepared to meet the future demands of the architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture professions.
Commitment and Role
As a board member of the College of Architecture and Design, these leaders have both the opportunity and the obligation to support the dean and academic leadership of the college, help influence strategic direction, advise dean as appropriate, engage students (both past and present), and provide financial backing in support of the college’s mission.
The board members are appointed by the dean after recommendations by current board members are submitted annually. Members of the Board may serve up to two consequence three-year terms. The Board is comprised of a diverse membership that represents the multidisciplinary and inclusive nature of the college’s three programs.
The Board meets twice a year, once in each semester, to discuss priorities in the college. Board members are expected to have active participation in board meetings, attend major events, assist with fundraising, both as an advocate and as a contributor, and act as voice of the merits of the college to outside parties.
For 2013-14, Keith Boswell is serving as Chair of the Board. Jocelyn Stroupe is the Chair-Elect.
