Author Stratigakos to Lecture on Women in Architecture

On Jan. 30, Despina Stratigakos, Ph.D., Professor of Architecture at the University at Buffalo, will present a lecture, Where are the Women Architects?, at the College of Architecture and Design. The lecture begins at 5:40 p.m. and will be held in Rm. 109, McCarty Auditorium, 1715 Volunteer Boulevard.

Stratigakos is the author of three books that explore the intersections of power and architecture. Her most recent book, Where Are the Women Architects? (2016), confronts the challenges women face in the architectural profession.

Her book, Hitler at Home (2015), investigates the architectural and ideological construction of the Führer’s domesticity, and A Women’s Berlin: Building the Modern City (2008) traces the history of a forgotten female metropolis.

Part of the Dialogues_ lecture series in the School of Architecture, this lecture is free and open to all.
