Lisa Mullikin

Associate Professor

School of Interior Architecture

Lisa Mullikin has dedicated her career to teaching interior design and architecture while working as an architect in California and Louisiana. She recently joined the Interior Design program at the University of Tennessee as an associate professor. She began her career in London and New York working on commercial interiors and slowly developed a specialty in historic preservation and sustainable design after receiving a master of architecture from the University of Maryland. She spent eight years in San Francisco and was involved in award winning projects while working at NBBJ and Page & Turnbull Architects. Her private practice has focused on the modern translation of vernacular traditions, historic preservation, and the recycling the existing built fabric for adaptive reuse. Her research complements her teaching and practice, focusing on regional daylighting that originates with the history of the culture and its relationship to the landscape.
