July 29, 2014 Two-day Conference at Oak Ridge National Laboratory

On July 24 and 25, faculty and administrators from the College of Architecture and Design met with the new Governor’s Chair for Energy and Urbanism, Phil Enquist and his team from Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill (SOM), Chicago, at Oak Ridge National Laboratories (ORNL) to tour parts of the facilities and discuss with ORNL partners, strategies and agenda items for the first year’s activities of the Governor’s Chair studio and seminar. This fall, James Rose (pictured above left) and Keith Boswell, a partner from SOM San Francisco (pictured below, right), will co-teach the first GC Studio that will include students from the Graduate Architecture Program. The studio and seminar will take place largely in the GC Studio and new CoAD FabLab at 525 South Gay Street in Downtown Knoxville.
