Congratulations to Sydney Bittinger, a 5th-year student in Architecture, who was chosen as the winner of the college’s 2020 holiday message student design competition.

Bittinger’s design is a topographical representation that encompasses her approach to design.

“I have had the privilege to work on many projects in my life and to explore many forms of collaboration, “Bittinger said. “I hope everyone enjoys this representation of that work and it entices them to create more.”

Bittinger’s design will be digitally distributed to 5,000 alumni and friends of the college.  Also as part of the win, she receives a $500 prize, and her design will be featured on our homepage.

The competition came about in 2019 as a way to convey good cheer and well wishes for the New Year to professionals who are connected to the college. For the second year, we chose to feature a student’s work to demonstrate in a unique way the creative culture in our college and showcase our students’ creativity and innovation.

Students were given a written message that had to be incorporated into the holiday design then challenged to create designs that represent the college. The designs were reviewed by a jury featuring our own faculty and staff, Diane Fox, Sarah Lowe and Ronda Wright, as well as alumni from BarberMcMurry Architects, Chad Boetger, and McCarty Holsaple McCarty Architects & Interior Designers, Haley Zimmerman and Nathan Honeycutt.

Thanks to all students who entered.  They represented most years and programs in the college, and their designs are featured below.  Enjoy and Happy New Year!
