UT Graduate School Application
- You will apply through the UT Graduate School. For international graduate student application procedures, see the Admission Guide for International Students.
- Submit directly to the UT Graduate School:
- Official transcripts of all college and university coursework
- A TOEFL Score (international students only; see the Admissions Guide for Graduate International Students)
Landscape Architecture Program Requirements
- Three letters of recommendation.
- An essay on intent and expectations of graduate study in landscape architecture (please see details below).
- A portfolio for applicants with formal design training; otherwise, a portfolio is optional.
- Path B applicants with a 4-year pre-professional landscape architecture, architecture, or landscape design degree who wish to apply for advanced standing must show prior design work in the portfolio.
Essay Guidelines
Your essay should indicate why you are interested in pursuing a degree in landscape architecture at UT. We encourage you to include the following in your essay:
- Cite examples of your experiences that demonstrate the personal ambition necessary to succeed in landscape architecture at UT.
- Discuss your primary motivations for pursuing a degree in landscape architecture.
- Explain why the School of Landscape Architecture at UT is the preferred program for you to launch a career in landscape architecture.
