February 18, 2019 Digital Tutoring Center Opens
We have a collaborative culture. Students, professors and professionals frequently work together here while sharing ideas and learning constantly. With the addition of our new Digital Tutoring Center, students have the opportunity to grow together and benefit from each other’s expertise about the technology they are using every day.
Our new Digital Tutoring Center is open now for students seeking help with basic digital skills, including Rhino, Grasshopper, V-Ray, 3D printing, Photoshop and more.
Twelve student tutors have been hired for this new initiative that was suggested by several faculty members. College leadership secured funding for it, and it opened in late January.
During spring 2019, digital tutoring is available Monday-Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Rm. 309 of the Art and Architecture Building.
Tutoring is available for any student in the college. Sessions are 30 minutes long with a fellow student tutor who will help with basic digital skills, answer questions and provide support for digital programs. Tutors can help in many capacities, from answering small questions about software to providing step-by-step instruction.
The goal for tutoring is to gain more knowledge to make digital work better and faster. Tutors are happy to answer questions, provide clarification and give examples using the software.
Students can schedule a tutoring appointment on Office 365 or Outlook using instructions on our website, or walk in for help during tutoring hours, and a tutor will help if available.
