Mieko Watanabe is a lecturer for the School of Architecture’s program abroad in Japan.

She founded wAtelier in 2016 after many years working for boutique firms in Tokyo. Watanabe’s practice has thus far touched mainly on hospitality and retail, as well as an art installation and urban renewal proposal along the way. She has also taught Japanese architecture, urban planning, and photography since 2009.
