Design Matters! Camp, July 9-14, is an immersive summer experience that brings high school students to the UT Knoxville campus to learn how design transforms the world.

It’s about shape, material and geometry….History, investigation and fabrication….Scale, process and problem solving. But most of all,

Design Matters! Camp teaches how design impacts everything we see, use and experience and how curious students can learn to contribute to that important role in society.

Through a diverse curriculum, Design Matters! Camp introduces students to design education and the multitude of professions that rely on designers. During the week, students spend each day engaging in lectures, designing in studio, working with state-of-the-art technology, visiting architectural sites and interacting in teambuilding and campus activities, including painting the famous UT Rock. The camp also gives students a glimpse of college life and the culture of camaraderie in a design college.

New this Year:

Students can stay overnight or sign up for day camp.

Scholarship applications are accepted through May 8, and reduced tuition is available for campers who register before April 29.
