First Friday Exhibit: Interconnected: Workplace Design for the Next Generation

[Interior Design] is a multi-faceted field in which the design of the physical features of space are purposely composed in a way that promotes positive interactions and enhances occupant wellbeing.

As part of the Interior Design 371 course, students were challenged to design spaces that utilized furniture from the Steelcase, Inc. portfolio to design an office environment that incorporates the principles of an [interconnected] workspace.

The result is an exhibit that explores five different approaches to the design of an office space; showcasing how interior design can address attraction, engagement, well-being, brand and collaboration. On display from January 3-31, a reception will be held during Knoxville’s First Friday, Jan. 3, at the Downtown Studio Gallery.
