We welcome Brad Barnett, Planner and Design Technologist with SASAKI Strategies, who will lecture April 19, 2018. The public lecture will begin at 5:00 p.m. in Room 111 of the Art + Architecture Building, 1715 Volunteer Blvd.

In his lecture, “Design as Data/Data as Design,” Barnett will explain SASAKI’s innovative approaches to data collection, visualization and synthesis as an informant to, and product of their planning and design process.

Barnett has significant experience integrating data and design, bringing data visualization, digital engagement, and user-centered design into planning and design projects. He helps project teams and stakeholders find new insights from data, understand the tradeoffs of design decisions, and communicate complex ideas. As a planner, he also brings subject matter expertise in neighborhood and comprehensive planning.

This lecture is presented by the School of Landscape Architecture and UT-ORNL Governor’s Chair for Energy + Urbanism.
