Lecture: Keller Easterling

Keller Easterling will lecture at the College of Architecture and Design on Thursday, Oct. 27, as part of the Robert B. Church Lecture Series. The lecture begins at 5:30 p.m. and will be held in the Art + Architecture Building’s McCarty Auditorium, 1715 Volunteer Boulevard. It is free and open to the public.
Easterling will present “Extrastatecraft,” titled after her most recent book, Extrastatecraft: The Power of Infrastructure Space. The lecture offers continuing education units and will be streamed live.
Easterling has been published extensively both in the United States and abroad, having authored five books and more than 130 articles and chapters in the last 30 years. Her writing was featured in the 2014 Venice Biennale, and her work has been displayed at Storefront for Art and Architecture in New York, the Rotterdam Biennale and the Architectural League in New York.
Easterling holds degrees from Princeton University, and she is the founder of Keller Easterling Architect in New York. She has served as assistant professor at Columbia University, and at present, she holds the Velux Fellowship, sponsored by the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture.
For 42 years, the UT College of Architecture and Design has hosted leading architects and design professionals through its Robert B. Church Memorial Lecture Series to enrich the education of its students and elevate the profession in the community.
