Matthews Discusses Design Thinking at Science Forum

October 30, 2015 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

No cost

David Matthews, professor of Architecture and director of Interior Design in the UT College of Architecture and Design, will present “Design Thinking and Creative Process: How Designers Approach Wicked Problems and Engage the Future,” at Science Forum, at noon, Oct. 30, Room C-D, Thompson-Boling Arena.

Matthews will discuss design thinking, an emerging tool of innovation and exploration for all disciplines where future outcomes are at stake.  He will further suggest that design thinking is a universal multidisciplinary design process that outlines how designers change existing conditions into preferred outcomes.

Science Forum is a weekly brown-bag lunch series that allows professors and area scientists to discuss their research with the general public in a conversational presentation.

Free and open to the public, each Science Forum consists of a fourty-minute presentation followed by a Q & A session. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch or purchase it at the café in Thompson-Boling Arena.
