Design Living and Learning Community
The College of Architecture and Design sponsors the Design Living and Learning Community, known as the Design LLC. First year students majoring in architecture, interior architecture, and graphic design are invited to apply for this opportunity. Once admitted, students will be assigned to a floor with a resident assistant and peer mentors who are upper-level students in our college.
Throughout your first academic year, your RA will host programs that promote the college’s culture of community. Some examples of programs students can expect include community study halls, software or other course-related workshops, professional organization seminars, and fun outings like rollerskating and bbqs. Students can expect to spend significant time working on studio projects and assignments, so the opportunity to live with peers enrolled in the same courses is invaluable.
The goal of our Design LLC is to foster an environment that encourages relationship building and interdisciplinary collaboration between architecture and design students. This is an exceptional opportunity for first year students to engage with their classmates and student organizations outside of the Art + Architecture Building and fully immerse themselves in all our college has to offer.
