DeMauri Mumphrey
Academic + Professional Development Advisor
DeMauri is an Academic + Professional Development Advisor in the Office of Student Development for the College of Architecture and Design. As a student in the School of Architecture, DeMauri saw her peaked interest in academia blossom into a focus-driven passion that has resulted in a career exploration of collaborative opportunities that prioritize student outreach/support and improved experiences in design academia. After obtaining her Bachelor’s of Architecture from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, DeMauri went on to become a guest lecturer for the College of Architecture + Design, a collaborator and program developer for BOLT Architecture’s youth-focused design mentoring program Bolt Edu., an Atlanta-based architectural designer specializing in mixed-use/historic and preservation projects, an active member of The National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) Atlanta Chapter while serving as Director of Community Affairs, and research assistant to Dean Young on college-wide access and engagement strategies.
DeMauri looks forward to utilizing her experiences as a COAD alumni and her non-linear pathways in professional practices towards assisting in the expansion (and reach) of the exemplary programs offered through the college to positively impact recruitment, student support + advocacy, retention rates, and professional + Industry placement. The Center for Student Development is located on the ground floor of the Art + Architecture Building and functions as the epicenter of undergraduate advising and also serves as a student lounge, design library and welcome center for prospective families.
