James Rose
Distinguished Lecturer, Director of Institute for Smart Structures
A faculty member since 2004, James Rose is a licensed architect and Interim Director of the Institute for Smart Structures. He is the recipient of numerous awards for his teaching and built work and was faculty advisor and architect of record for the 2011 UT Solar Decathlon team. He has co-authored numerous papers on building technology with colleagues at UT and ORNL. James is an architect, educator and furniture designer with a keen interest in the intersection of material and process.
