Why Interior Architecture at UT?

Faculty, students and staff in our school advance the discipline by situating human-centered, spatially-driven interior architecture, maker culture and theories of interiority at the forefront of teaching and research in a wide array of formats. These include cross-disciplinary collaboration, diverse perspectives, digital fabrication and community engagement.

Our Approach

Our students work on human-centered projects at local, regional, national, and global scales. Through our program, you will engage in different types of learning models, hand-drawing, model-making, and furniture and digital fabrication. You’ll work alongside students from across the college, fostering a collaborative environment where diverse perspectives spark innovation, enhance creativity, and lead to stronger, more integrated design solutions.

Spaces and Resources

From the energy of the studio, where ideas take shape alongside friends, to the cutting-edge tools of the Fab Lab and woodshops, where emergent technology fuels innovation, our spaces and resources empower students to create, experiment, and push the boundaries of design. In the Materials Library, students explore a vast collection of textiles, gaining hands-on insight into the textures, properties, and possibilities that shape their work.

Alumni and Career Trajectories

You won’t leave with just a degree. Our curriculum is rich with skills that will make employers take notice, like communication skills, community engagement, design thinking and fabrication experience.
