January 11, 2019 College Presents Spring 2019 Lecture Series
The college continues its 2018-2019 public lecture series by hosting internationally recognized guest lecturers during spring 2019.
Most lectures begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Art and Architecture Building, located at 1715 Volunteer Boulevard, in McCarty Auditorium Room 109, unless otherwise noted. All lectures are free and open to the public.
The spring 2019 lecturers include
Jan. 28: Lola Sheppard from the University of Waterloo and Lateral Office, funded by the Robert B. Church Memorial Lecture fund
Feb. 11: Jessica Rosenkrantz from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Nervous System, funded by the Robert B. Church Memorial Lecture fund
Feb. 26: Paul D. Miller, a.k.a. DJ Spooky, That Subliminal Kid, a composer, multimedia artist and writer, co-sponsored by the UT School of Music, Robert B. Church Memorial Lecture fund and student organization, TAAST. This event will take place in the Sandra G. Powell Recital Hall in the UT Natalie L. Haslam Music Center.
Mar. 25: Josh Shelton from el dorado, funded by the Robert B. Church Memorial Lecture fund
Apr. 1: Nate Imai from the UT College of Architecture and Design, funded by the Robert B. Church Memorial Lecture fund
Apr. 8: Alyssa Kuhns from the UT College of Architecture and Design, funded by the Robert B. Church Memorial Lecture fund
Apr. 15: Sir David Adjaye, Principal and founder of Adjaye Associates, funded by General Shale.
For 44 years, the College has hosted renowned architects and design professionals through its Robert B. Church Memorial Lectures and more recently the Governor’s Chair Lecture Series and General Shale Lectures to enrich the education of UT students and elevate the design profession in the community.
