Graduates of the School of Interior Architecture year after year achieve success in post-graduation employment and graduate school acceptance.

The following data was collected using institutional records and alumni surveys that were administered before and after the class of 2021 graduation. 19 out of 19 alumni responded to the surveys.

Student Attrition and Retention:

91% of students enrolled in the first year of the program in 2020 will progress to the second year of the program, putting program attrition at 9%.

Graduation Rates:

63% of the graduating students in 2021 who successfully completed the first year of studies, will graduate from the Interior Architecture program in four years.

Acceptance into Graduate Programs:

100% of students who graduated in 2021 and applied to graduate schools were accepted into advanced degree programs.

Job Placement: 

75% of students who graduated in 2021, and are not pursuing a graduate degree, are employed in industry employment prior to or at graduation.

Accreditation

The interior architecture program leading to the Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture degree is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation, www.accredit-id.org, 206 Grandville Avenue, Suite 350, Grand Rapids, MI, 49503. (CIDA). The CIDA-accredited program prepares students for entry-level interior design practice, for advanced study, and to apply for membership in professional interior design organizations. The Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture granted by University of Tennessee, Knoxville meets the educational requirement for eligibility to sit for the National Council for Interior Design Qualification Examination (NCIDQ Exam).
