January 4, 2017 Alumni Update: Career Day RSVP Open

The college’s successful Career Day is set for Feb. 24, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and again will be held in Neyland Stadium Terrace Room. Alumni who are interested in reserving a table at Career Day should RSVP here.

Career Day is an opportunity for employers to engage with students who are preparing to graduate and younger students who are seeking internships. It is a tradition in the College of Architecture and Design that is rapidly growing. In 2012, three firms participated in Career Day, and in 2016, that number rose to 53.

Firms who reserve tables at Career Day can review student portfolios in advance and schedule interviews to take place at Career Day. All architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and allied industry firms are invited to participate. Details are here.

Speed Interviews

The college invites younger alumni to sign up to participate in “speed interviews.” On Feb. 22, 5:30-7:30 p.m., in the Art + Architecture Building, alumni and students will engage in five-minute mock interviews to give students invaluable practice prior to interviews at Career Day. Reception

All firms who reserve tables at Career Day are invited to a reception on Feb. 23, 5:30-7:30 p.m., in downtown Knoxville (location to be announced soon). The reception, sponsored by SESCO Lighting, is free of charge for Career Day participants and will be held in a location easily accessible from Hilton Knoxville, the official hotel of Career Day.
