Career Day 2021

Career Day is for all of our students.

Career Day is an event for all students in our college. During Career Day, students are interviewed for jobs and internships and have the opportunity to interact with professionals and receive career advice. In 2021, Career Day will be held virtually on Friday, Feb. 26. During Career Day, dozens of professional firms specializing in architecture, interior architecture/design, landscape architecture, industrial design, graphic design and allied disciplines pay to have the opportunity to interview and meet with students.

There is no cost for students to participate in Career Day.

Virtual Career Day Platform: Handshake

Professionals, Handshake will serve as the virtual platform through which you can meet and chat with our Architecture, Interior Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Graphic Design students. Click here to create an account in Handshake. Read this tutorial on setting up an employer account.

Upon registration and approval, you can offer two types of sessions*:

1. A 30-minute group session.  This could serve as more of a “get to know our firm” information session and can accommodate up to 50 students
2. One-on-One individual interview sessions in 10-minute increments**

*Handshake will be the primary platform, but you can use external platforms like Zoom or Teams for your sessions if you wish. Learn more as you build your schedules.

**You can increase your time with students by “blocking” the next 10-minute slot, or two….  

For Professionals: Your Schedule during Career Day

Be sure to read this tutorial on Creating a Schedule. Between 9 a.m. – 12 a.m., please consider hosting a minimum of (2) 30-minute sessions during which you can present your firm to the student participants in the groups. These small-group info sessions are helpful ways for students to get to know you, even if you’re not in the position to hire right away, and they allow students to attend multiple sessions, including yours. Please complete your schedule by Feb. 5, so students can begin registering to fill the spots in your schedule.
