Screening of “Troublemakers”
April 15, 2016 @ 12:15 pm - 1:30 pm
$5An afternoon screening of the documentary, Troublemakers, will introduce students across the campus to the possibilities of landscape as an art medium and the risks artists sometimes take to express their creativity and push conventional norms. All students are invited to the screening, April 15, 12:15-1:30 p.m., McCarty Auditorium in the Art + Architecture Building. The cost is free or $5 for general public and students who did not “opt in.”
According to the film’s website, “Troublemakers unearths the history of land art in the tumultuous late 1960s and early 1970s. The film features a cadre of renegade New York artists that sought to transcend the limitations of painting and sculpture by producing earthworks on a monumental scale in the desolate desert spaces of the American southwest.”
The screening is presented by the student chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects and funded in part through the Student Programming Allocation Committee. For more information about the documentary, visit http://troublemakersthefilm.com/about/.
