Interior Design/Facilities Intern

Overview:
Jewelry Television’s headquarters, located in Knoxville, Tennessee, includes a beautiful campus with a large facility for our 1,500 employees. As a growing business, we are continually improving and updating our campus to support our business needs. The Interior Design/Facilities Intern will assist the facilities team in project needs that arise as part of our new construction or renovations.
Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
The Interior Design/Facilities Intern may be asked to coordinate or oversee some of the following duties:
Plan, order furniture/materials and decorate a conference space or gathering area within the JTV office space.
Order signage for offices, conference rooms, or areas on campus.
Determine appropriate artwork for a space (either from current inventory or recommend a purchase) and physically place/hang the artwork.
Work with the JTV Events Planner and the Facilities Team to prepare spaces for JTV employee events or outside groups using the JTV facilities.
Assist the SVP of Operations with special projects as needed.
Decorate the facility as needed for the holidays.
Duties may be added that are not listed above as our space is ever changing and assignments may be added as the internship progresses.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
Excellent communication skills, particularly with Executive level team members.
Must be detail oriented.
Ability to work within a team and coordinate work load.
Ideal candidate can take direction quickly and work independently.
Candidates should have a good eye for color, and use of space, particularly within an office environment.
Must have a willingness to assist/participate in even small tasks that may be needed to support a business objective.
Some study of interior design is preferred. Course projects and freelance work count as experience and candidates may be asked to provide a portfolio.
Required Education:
For Intern positions, we prefer a current student with two years of study or a recent graduate. Interior design course work is preferred but not mandatory.
